Community Outreach

NNMF is so much more than a foundation; it is a community of clinicians, administrators, support staff, innovators, patients and families, all working together to make a world of difference. There is no better way to contribute than by aligning with a child—friendly philanthropic cause.

Until Every Child Is Well

The best way of providing health care to disabled children is to reach their environment. We collaborate with special educators, Anganwadi workers ,and teachers to identify these children from the community.

NNMF organizes health camps in the villages, and taluka levels regularly. The aim of the camp is not just to provide health services but to create an environment where the whole community gets sensitized about the disability

A day long screening camp is organized at a village or taluka level.

On an average 150-200 disabled children are screened in a single day.

The medical team comprises of Orthopedic surgeon, anesthetist, physiotherapist, orthotist, support staff, social worker, project coordinator, members of NNMF, and multipurpose workers.

Children who need surgical correction are selected for surgical camp.

Children who do not need surgeries are advised physiotherapy exercise programmes. Pamplets explaining exercises to be done at home are distributed to the parents and caretakers. Parents are also trained for basic physiotherapy care to be taken at home.

Some children are given orthotic devices.

Teachers from local schools and doctors from public health centers also participate in the camp.

Children selected for surgeries are operated in the surgical camp.
